Together Everyone Achieves More
At TLC Dog Walking, teamwork means everything to us. We work in teams and the teams are our strength. Everyone has heard the very old saying 'there is no I in team'. However, it could be said that there is a “me”. Being a team player is not something that takes away from the value of the individual, but rather increases it intensely. TEAM has been described as Together Everyone Achieves More. Anyone who has been on a good team, will agree with that acronym. A team is knowing other people care about you

Together Everyone Achieves More
To become a part of a team is a great privilege. Few people ever get the wonderful opportunity to experience the support of teammates and friends in the crucible of the competitive dog walking arena. A team lifts and elevates the performance of an individual to heights never previously achieved. Everyone must also recognise their responsibility to the team.
Our team is a collection of individuals who have chosen to pursue common goals, generally, to be great dog walkers, to get fitter and to have fun. One of these goals, by tacit agreement of all concerned, is the improvement of everyone which can result in improvement of the team performance. This is true in Professional Dog Walking. We walk individually, but preparation for walking is best accomplished in a team environment. If there is a problem, you need team support. No individual can create this environment for excellence on their own. It takes a team.
There is no such thing as a free dinner. If an individual wants to benefit from the team they must give to the team. Successful teams nurture the individual and expect the individual to respond by also nurturing the team.
The most successful teams have some characteristics in common in terms of accommodating the needs of individuals;
1) Everyone adheres to the core values of the team. Outside these core values, they allow freedom of individual expression. But the core values are absolute, and not to be modified or bent for the individual.
2) They recognise that not everyone’s every need can be met, but they bend over backwards to accommodate the most important needs of everyone.
3) They react positively to the idea in action that everyone first takes care of their own responsibilities, then assists others in their needs.
Individuals on successful teams also have some common characteristics;
1) The most important trait in a strong, happy team is commitment. They are committed to the team and to the individuals on the team. Putting their team first.
2) They share responsibility. Together, everyone accomplishes more.
3) They appreciate what the team does for them. If they want to be cheered for, they cheer for teammates. If they need special attention, they provide special attention to others. They focus on other teammates strengths, not their faults.
4) They communicate with each other. Each day you are a new person, and you need to grow with your team.
5) They know the Rules do not make teams, but traditions based on what it takes to achieve group goals do make a team. The individual recognises the power of peer pressure when the object is right behaviour.
6) Individuals recognise that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
7) They seek help when it is needed. Strong teams are not problem free, they just admit when the have a problem and their team helps them to fix it.
There are many old saying about being part of a team;
· The Team Takes Care of Me, and I Take Care of The Team.
· Teams are not ends in themselves; they are a means by which to achieve other organisational goals.
· Each member of a team has a responsibility to be better today, then they were yesterday. That is how teams get better.
· Team means together.
· We all commit easier to group goals then we do to our own. We want to not let anyone else down.
· It is more fun in a team.
· Teams double the pleasure and half the pain.
· Dog Walking teams are like families. It is not always pretty, but it is much more rewarding to be in one.
